![]() Mary contributed what Wordsworth later said were the two best lines in the poem, recalling the "tranquil restoration" of Tintern Abbey, "They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude" ![]() Dorothy Wordsworth, The Grasmere Journal Thursday, 15 April 1802Īt the time he wrote the poem, Wordsworth was living with his wife, Mary Hutchinson, and sister Dorothy at Town End, in Grasmere in the Lake District. The Bays were stormy and we heard the waves at different distances and in the middle of the water like the Sea. There was here and there a little knot and a few stragglers a few yards higher up but they were so few as not to disturb the simplicity and unity and life of that one busy highway – We rested again and again. This wind blew directly over the lake to them. I never saw daffodils so beautiful they grew among the mossy stones about and about them, some rested their heads upon these stones as on a pillow for weariness and the rest tossed and reeled and danced and seemed as if they verily laughed with the wind that blew upon them over the Lake, they looked so gay ever glancing ever changing. When we were in the woods beyond Gowbarrow park we saw a few daffodils close to the water side, we fancied that the lake had floated the seed ashore and that the little colony had so sprung up – But as we went along there were more and yet more and at last under the boughs of the trees, we saw that there was a long belt of them along the shore, about the breadth of a country turnpike road. He would draw on this to compose "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" in 1804, inspired by Dorothy's journal entry describing the walk near a lake at Grasmere in England: The inspiration for the poem came from a walk Wordsworth took with his sister Dorothy around Glencoyne Bay, Ullswater, in the Lake District. Often anthologised, it is now seen as a classic of English Romantic poetry, although Poems, in Two Volumes was poorly reviewed by Wordsworth's contemporaries. In a poll conducted in 1995 by the BBC Radio 4 Bookworm programme to determine the nation's favourite poems, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud came fifth. Written in 1804, it was first published in 1807 in Poems, in Two Volumes, and as a revision in 1815. ![]() It is one of his most popular, and was inspired by a forest encounter on 15 April 1802 between he, his younger sister Dorothy and a "long belt" of daffodils. The headline news from that recent Bloomberg report is that GTA 6 could feature the 3D series’ first female protagonist. ![]() This is reportedly to help alleviate crunch during development, and if this all rings true, GTA 6 could be an ever-evolving title. According to the report, GTA 6 will be set primarily in a fictional version of Miami, with additional areas and cities to be added post-launch. We mentioned a recent report by Bloomberg earlier, and this report also has a bunch of info on a possible setting for GTA 6. He also reveals that Vice City may be coming to the game in some capacity, albeit a modern version. The reasoning behind this is reportedly that a modern setting is easier to expand upon in the game’s online setting, as modern technology can be added in without feeling jarring. In this video, Henderson reveals that he has heard that GTA 6 will be a ‘modern title.’ This means a modern setting, ruling out 80s Vice City for now. In it, he covers all of the rumours that he has heard over the last couple of years. Industry leaker Tom Henderson released a video on this very subject back in 2021. Last we heard, Rockstar had revealed GTA 6, and that development was ‘well underway.’ This gives an indication that the game is indeed in active development, however until we see more we can’t say when it is likely to come out. Analysts have predicted that such an increase could only be attributed to Grand Theft Auto 6, suggesting that 2024 may be the planned release window for the game. Earlier this year we reported on a story covering a predicted $9 billion in earnings for Take-Two in 2024. Nor does it have a general release window. ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ could be out by March 2024 according to analystsĪs we mentioned before, GTA 6 does not currently have a release date.Rockstar says ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ development is “well underway”.‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ may get its first gameplay trailer this year.‘Grand Theft Auto 6′ must “exceed players’ expectations” says Rockstar.‘GTA 6’ report claims female protagonist and Miami setting.Latest NewsĪs more info is revealed on GTA 6 we’ll collect our coverage below: ![]() We’ll be sure to keep this page updated as more is revealed, so check back in for the latest news. ![]() To keep you in the loop, we’ve collected all of the latest news, rumours and official details regarding GTA 6. On my phone, that’s where a whole lot of space is being consumed as I can see when I choose Photos:Ĭompressing my biggest photos can save a quick 1.5GB, but the real savings is when I simply copy photos off my iPhone and onto my computer. They can be compressed to save space, and you can also use iMyFone Umate Pro to back up photos. If you’re like me, you have tons and tons of photos. Where you can free up lots of space is to look at your photo archive. Your quantities will differ and for you these could free up quite a bit more space! Okay, so this only frees up 58MB of space, but that’s all space I’d rather have open for real things rather than eaten up with crash logs and the like. To start, let’s just have a quick look at the Junk Files by clicking on “Clean” adjacent. That’s a lot of space! But don’t get too excited, because you might not want to do everything recommended. It’ll take a few minutes, but once it’s done you’ll see all sorts of really easy ways to free up some space:Ģ0GB. ![]() ![]() Frustrating, particularly if you’re trying to free up space to make your device work better!Ĭlick on “ Quick Scan” to let the program dig around… In fact, iOS has a bad habit of staging deleted files so if you “delete” a photo or video on your iPhone or iPad, it’s actually still there, just in the “recently deleted folder”. How do you erase deleted files? You may ask, and a fair question that is. The main functions of the program are shown on the left: free up space, erase all data, erase deleted files, and erase private data. To start, install the program and plug in your iPhone to proceed:Īs you can see, the iPhone 7 has 128GB of space (118.12GB accessible), 82.29GB is used and 35.83GB is free. ![]() We tested the Mac version on a brand new Macbook Pro with Touchbar and an iPhone 7. Things fail left and right, you can’t take photos, capture video, and individual apps can become ridiculously slow and, eventually, unusable.įortunately iMyFone Umate Pro has you covered in both cases, and it’s available in both a Windows and Mac version. So even a curious cousin could extract all sorts of information - and photos! - you’d rather have stayed far, far from prying eyes.īut even if you aren’t planning on getting rid of your iPhone, it’s easy to have all the data ooze and grow to take up all the available space, and if you’ve ever run out of space on an iOS 10 device, it’s not pretty. It may seem a bit paranoid to worry about text messages, emails and photos on an iPhone or iPad you’re poised to see or give to a friend or family member, but identity theft is a major issue and the tools to recover ‘deleted’ data are free to download from the Internet. There are tons of setting powders on the market, so we focused on some of the most popular brands and top-rated setting powders. We think that this is the best way to apply it, but you do you! If you're looking for serious staying power, Faller says you can even try adding a layer of powder in between primer and foundation. “You can use a blending sponge like Mehron's Face Smoothie Sponge to pack on the powder, and then use a big fluffy brush to dust off the excess,” Faller explains. There are endless ways to apply setting powder, so your giftee can feel free to experiment and find what’s best for them. How to Apply Setting Powderīefore we get to testing, let’s talk application. “Pressed powder can be matched exactly to the skin tone like foundation because it is not known to oxidize, while loose setting powder can only be close to the skin tone or colorless,” she says. “It’s OK if it’s not the exact color as the skin tone as long as it’s colorless and brightens the highlighted area of the face,” she says.Īccording to Gant, a setting powder’s formulation also impacts your giftee's shade match. Makeup artist Kenyata Gant of Pink Lipps Cosmetics says setting powder should either match their skin tone or be colorless because if so, the setting powder won’t show a white cast or a flashback after applying it to the face. Whether your giftee prefers a loose powder, in which loose pigments are contained in a jar, or a pressed powder, which is patted down onto a smooth surface, this step is essential to long-wearing, flawless-looking makeup. “A finishing powder acts as more of a veil and goes on like a light dusting than setting powder to blur any lines to create that seamless finish.” ![]() They usually come translucent and are a bit heavier,” makeup artist Pamela Faller tells us. “Setting powder will literally set the makeup to make sure it stays put. This relationship mechanic in Cassette Beasts will determine the power of players' fusions. Not only are players able to explore this gameplay in co-op, but there is a diverse cast of characters players can spend time with, journey alongside as a partner, and form bonds. Furthermore, players are able to fuse these monsters to create more Powerful beings for battle. In this way, players and humans become these monsters, a motif rarely explored in Pokemon games and anime. RELATED: Xbox Game Pass is Losing a Popular Survival Game in April 2023Ĭassette Beasts take place on the remote Island of New Wiral, where folks use cassette players to capture creatures, with the game saying some of these are "creature you've only dreamed of" and "nightmares you hopefully haven't." When players encounter them, they'll be able to record them to gain their abilities and transform into them for battle. However, that's not to say Cassette Beasts doesn't strike out with some innovations of its own. It also features turn-based battles in an open-world RPG, which can draw comparisons to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, though it has a distinct pixel art style reminiscent of older games. ![]() In Cassette Beasts, players will be able to collect "awesome monsters" using their cassette player, giving it a distinct Pokemon clone vibe. It'll launch on Xbox One and Xbox Series X (via Xbox Game Pass) and Nintendo Switch sometime in late Spring 2023. Cassette Beasts, from developer Bytten Studio and publisher Raw Fury, is coming to PC Game Pass day one on April 26 (as well as Steam). Like weapons, these abilities run the gamut and cater to just about every flavor of dungeon crawler. You run into this stone when you start each run and a few times thereafter, giving you plenty of opportunities to swap familiar abilities. After defeating elite monsters called familiars and coming across a particular stone, you can equip a pair of their abilities. I preferred to safely pellet my enemies with rifle blasts from afar, but you’ll come across items and abilities that make many play styles viable.įamiliars are another way Crown Trick cleverly empowers you to shape Elle’s combat style to your liking. Rifle shots winnow down your enemies from afar and penetrate those standing in a line, stave swings make up for their mediocre damage output by giving you a bit of range and enhancing your abilities, and axe swings unleash a whirlwind that’ll slice and dice enemies standing in any tile adjacent to your own. Each supports a distinct combat style that offers a dramatically different gameplay experience. Though she’s cute as a button, Elle knows her way around a rifle, axe, sword, staff, and a slew of other deadly weapons. Combat feels a lot like Superhot, except battles are turn-based and play out in hazard-laden rooms comprised of square tiles hearkening back to Fire Emblem games. This gives you plenty of time to strategize your next move, something you’ll need to make a habit of if you want to surmount the game’s fairly punishing difficulty. If you sit still and do nothing, your foes follow suit. Unlike in almost every other roguelite, your enemies only move or attack when you do. It also doesn’t hurt that Crown Trick offers some of the most thought-provoking fun I’ve had in months. Once you wrap your head around Crown Trick’s complex combat system, you’ll have a tough time putting it down! Witnessing Elle and the crown’s endearing evolution was a heart-warming joy that helped keep me pining to play Crown Trick when I wasn’t. By the final act, the pair are thick as thieves and finally resemble a team you’d expect to see in an RPG. As Elle clears more of the nightmare realm, the crown begins to trust her and share amusing tidbits of lore that flesh out its dank world. At first, the pair are comically at odds sweet, naive Elle and her perpetual optimism irritate the crown, which doubts Elle’s fitness to wear it and treats her with laugh-out-loud funny condescension. Nothing better exemplifies its engaging tone than does Elle’s relationship with the crown. Though Crown Trick opens darkly, it’s brimming with light-hearted silliness and snark that’ll keep you smiling. The crown imbues Elle with special powers, and the pair ascend towering dungeons to vanquish Vlad and save both worlds. A baddie named Vlad has breached the nightmare realm’s seals of power, empowering his forces of destruction and violence to overpower both the realm and Elle’s world. ![]() After she dons it, it comes to life and gives her the lay of the land. Confused, she stumbles across the game’s titular crown. ![]() You play a vibrantly pink-haired child named Elle who awakens in the realm of nightmares. Nonetheless, it accomplishes that goal and offers ample charm along the way. In typical roguelite fashion, the game’s plot does little more than contextualize its real draw: dungeon-crawling. Balance issues and dubious design choices dampen the experience, but Crown Trick is a testament to the compatibility of these two dissimilar genres and is the most addictive roguelite I’ve played all year. Partly thanks to its turn-based underpinnings, Crown Trick feels like playing a more thoughtful, tactical version of Hades-one brimming with multifaceted combat, progression systems I still struggle to stop thinking about, and a spirited aesthetic that kept me smiling even on my 40th wipe. ![]() Still, I was intrigued. So when the game debuted on PlayStation 4, morbid curiosity got the better of me and I decided to give it a go, expecting an interesting but unplayable experiment.Īnd I’m glad I did, because NeXT Studios proved me very, very wrong. When I first heard that Crown Trick meshes elements of both genres, I was sure the combination would lead to disappointment. ![]() Turn-based RPGs and roguelites are strange bedfellows. ![]()

Later, she does meet the little girl again and ultimately she decides that in order to escape, they must work together.Ī side commentary on this game (I’ll write more about these when I actually make a review video about the gameplay) is that I love that it gives you the option to hold hands with this little girl. He offers to help this little girl but she runs away. He follows the sound of a music box up the stairs of this home, and finds himself in a room where a little girl is held captive. ![]() ![]() Mono avoids all this and finds himself in the house where the hunter resides. The environment suggests that there is a hunter somewhere as it is filled with traps and decaying animals (or humans) everywhere. He wakes in the middle of the woods next to a television set, and from there, the game begins. It is important to know that in this game, the player can collect hats he starts off with his paper bag hat, but the other things he ends up wearing in exchange for it does cover up a lot of his face. But what we do know, is that their world exists in such a way where over indulgence and mindless consumerism takes place. We don’t really know who the Lady is, we don’t really get an explanation on how these events turn out and where these visitors come from. But for now, this is what you need to know about the first game. I’ll be excluding the DLCs that further explains the fate of the gnomes, maybe I’ll explore on that some more in another post. As she escapes the Maw, she walks through a room filled with the visitors trying to devour her, but in an instant she is able to kill them with her new abilities. In the end, she confronts The Lady and consumes her as well she then is revealed to have powers. Starting out with a piece of bread, a sausage, a rat, and then in a horrible scene, she consumes one of the gnomes that tried to aid her. Throughout the game, Six experiences hunger which plays as an important role in the story as she must scavenge for food. ![]() ![]() As the glass heats up it becomes more liquid-like or fluid and as it cools, the joined glass becomes solid again forming a new piece of solid glass. Most people have not made up their minds about whether they would actively avoid or eat them, according to a 2022 study that Cummings conducted. However, gene-edited foods could still face obstacles with public acceptance, says Christopher Cummings, a senior research fellow at North Carolina State University and Iowa State University. In a 2019 poll by the Pew Research Center, about 51 percent of respondents thought GMOs were worse for people’s health than those with no genetically modified ingredients. Despite decades of evidence showing that GMOs are safe, many Americans are still wary of these foods. Gene-edited foods like the new mustard greens may offer similar consumer benefits without the baggage of the GMO label. It’s engineered to contain more antioxidants than the regular red variety of tomato, and its shelf life is also twice as long. Last year, a GMO purple tomato was introduced in the US with consumers in mind. In reality, most of the GMOs on the market today were developed to help farmers prevent crop loss and increase yield. When genetic engineering was first introduced to agriculture in the 1990s, proponents touted the potential consumer benefits of GMOs, such as healthier or fortified foods. “I don’t think this is likely to be the answer to any nutritional problems,” he says, adding that a staple crop like fortified rice would likely have a much bigger nutritional impact. People who don’t eat enough vegetables are unlikely to change their habits just because a new salad alternative is available, says Peter Lurie, president and executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a Washington, DC–based nonprofit that advocates for safer and healthier foods. Beef from these cows hasn’t come onto the market yet.Īnother Minnesota firm, Calyxt, came out with a gene-edited soybean oil in 2019 that’s free of trans fats, but the product uses an older form of gene editing known as TALENs. Cattle with this trait may be able to better withstand hot temperatures. ![]() Minnesota company Acceligen used the gene-editing tool to give cows a short, slick-hair coat. And last year, the US approved Crispr-edited cattle for use in meat production. Scientists are using Crispr in an attempt to improve other crops, such as boosting the number of kernels on ears of corn or breeding cacao trees with enhanced resistance to disease. The company behind the tomato, Sanatech Seeds, claims that eating GABA can help relieve stress and lower blood pressure. A chemical messenger in the brain, GABA blocks impulses between nerve cells. In 2021, a Tokyo firm introduced a Crispr-edited tomato in Japan that contains high amounts of y-aminobutyric acid, or GABA. The mustard greens aren’t the first Crispr food to be launched commercially. The company also met with the FDA prior to introducing its new greens. In 2020, the USDA determined Pairwise's mustard greens were not plant pests. The US Department of Agriculture reviews applications for gene-edited foods to determine whether these altered plants could become a pest, and the Food and Drug Administration recommends that producers consult with the agency before bringing these new foods to market. In 2019, only about one in 10 adults in the US met the daily recommended intake of 1.5 to 2 cups of fruit and 2 to 3 cups of vegetables, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “Our lifestyle and needs are evolving and we’re becoming more aware of our nutrition deficit,” says Haven Baker, cofounder and chief business officer at Pairwise. It’s using Crispr to develop seedless blackberries and pitless cherries. ![]() Beyond mustard greens, the company is also trying to improve fruits. Pairwise’s goal is to make already healthy foods more convenient and enjoyable. Crispr has yet to end world hunger, but in the short term, it may give consumers more variety in what they eat. For instance, you could make crops that produce larger yields, resist pests and disease, or require less water. If you could tweak the genetic code of plants, you could-at least in theory-install any number of favorable traits into them. Ever since, scientists have envisioned lofty uses for the technique. A naturally occurring part of bacteria’s immune system, Crispr was first harnessed as a gene-editing tool in 2012. |
